WORK$MART is a highly interactive online workshop for working women that emphasizes learning the essential nuts-and-bolts of effective salary negotiation. Participants are urged to take part in both sessions, as the second session builds directly on the first.
During these webinars you will learn:
- How to benchmark the salary of your current job;
- How to determine whether or not you are paid fairly; and
- How to negotiate a raise or promotion.
This workshop will be moderated by Jocelyn Samuels, Vice President for Education and Employment at the National Women's Law Center. It was developed and will be led by Dr. Evelyn Murphy, President of The WAGE Project, Inc., a national grassroots activist organization dedicated to eliminating the gender wage gap. Dr. Murphy is a Ph. D. economist, former Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, and author of Getting Even: Why Women Don't Get Paid Like Men and What to Do About It.
This free webinar is part of the National Women's Law Center's Citi Education Series on Family Economic Security, which is designed to improve the economic and educational opportunities for women and their families.

This clinic is provided to homeowners to help them to:
- Identify financial options and services if they have defaulted or are in danger of defaulting on their mortgages.
- Avoid Predatory Lenders and Foreclosure Rescue Scams that prey on homeowners facing foreclosure.
- Answer questions about avoiding foreclosure.

Over 12,000 DC residents still have not claimed their 2007 Economic Stimulus Payments.
If you have not already claimed your payment, you may be eligible to receive $300-$600 from the government, even if you are not required to file a tax return!
You are eligible for the Stimulus Payment if you:
1) Have not yet filed a 2007 tax return;
2) Were not claimed as a dependent on anyone else's 2007 return;
3) Are a US citizenship or have resident alien status;
4) Have a valid social security number; and
5) Earned income of $3,000 or more from at least one of the following sources in 2007:
- Wages from a job
- Social Security, or Social Security Disability (SSDI)
- Survivor’s, Veteran’s, or Retired Railroad Benefits

Clients will meet with an attorney who will give legal advice about the wills & probate process in DC.

An attorney will assess the client's situation and determine if a will is applicable.

If a will is appropriate, an attorney will draft a will for the client to review at a later date.

Once the will is complete, the client will meet with an NLSP attorney for the reading and execution of the will.
Income eligibility requirements. Appointments required, no walk-ins accepted. For screening and appointment, you must call NLSP at 202-682-2700 ext. 124 and speak with William Conti.
